On Friday, the quarrel between the two cops at the police station near Nkandl in northern KwaZulu-Natal ended in bloodshed.
Police spokesman Lt. Col. Thulani Zwane said that at the police station in Ekombe the murder case was instituted – in which the accident occurred – after shooting a 43-year-old policeman.
"It is alleged that the policeman was on duty when he got into a fight with a policeman from work.
"A police officer who has no service allegedly shot his colleague."
Called he said that the 30-year-old man was immediately arrested by police officers on duty.
"Firearms suspected of being used in committing a crime have been caught and will be subjected to ballistic tests.
"The suspect will appear in the court of Nkandl's court on Monday accused of murder," said Zwane.
