"Bellville police investigate the murder case after discovering the body of a 32-year-old woman in Welgemoed this morning around 11:00," said police spokesman Sergeant Noloyiso Rwexana.
"The police dealt with the complaint at this address and after a preliminary investigation found black bags containing the body of the deceased cut into pieces in another apartment.
"A 24-year-old man has been arrested, and when he is charged, he will appear in the Bellville Peace Court."
Netwerk24 reported that neighbors allegedly heard noises from the 10th floor of Seesig's apartment in Loevenstein on Wednesday evening. During the investigation the next morning, they apparently caught a man in blue gloves in the apartment.
On a Facebook page of a deceased woman who was not named by the police and worked for an engineering company, she was asked to consider the feelings of her family: "Do not ask questions, share tragic news or post opinions about it here.
"It was her personal page where family and friends could condolve and remember."
Another woman posted on Facebook: "Nobody deserves to die that way. Let your soul rest in inner peace and let your family find the justice it deserves. "
Her death deeply moved another woman: "You were so beautiful … I'm stunned. My heart is directed to her family and loved ones. I'm so sorry. "
