Air Transport

After the increase in oil prices, Iata (International Air Transport Association) revised the company's earnings forecasts for this year. The latter have not increased their rates, while kerosene accounts for about 30% of their costs. Therefore, their profitability may be significantly reduced. In Europe, where several companies disappeared last year (Air Berlin, Monarch Airline), the rise in oil prices may lead to consolidation of the sector. Nevertheless, the optimism of professionals is not undermined because the accumulated net profit, even downward adjusted, should amount to USD 33.8 billion, which is the fourth best result of this sector. European companies should record the best result in their history, with a total profit of 7.3 billion dollars. It is expected that in 2018, the global increase in traffic will still be 7% higher.
