Eighteen cities in the north-west of Sao Paulo are faced with a dengue epidemic due to the number of cases, also because the disease has spread to several districts and deaths.
The largest city in the region, São José do Rio Preto (SP) confirmed 3240 confirmed cases earlier this year and four confirmed deaths. Rio Preto faces the Dengue epidemic from the first half of February, when 1252 cases of the disease confirmed.
This number may be much higher than the current one, because the municipal health secretary has already warned about predicting 20,000 cases this year.
In the Rio Preto region Cedral has just over 10,000 inhabitants and registered in 2019 54 positive cases of the disease. Ibirá, with 12,000 inhabitants, has already confirmed 92 cases according to the latest assessment.
However, the most serious cases in the Rio Preto region are in Neves Paulista, and 136 confirmed cases affect 8,000 residents. The ear has 79 cases of confirmed dengue fever and one has died.

In addition to the Rio Preto, Andradina is one of the cities in northwestern São Paulo, which has over 2,000 confirmed cases: 2,650 cases in the first months of the year. The city has 57 thousand inhabitants and there are no registered deaths.
In Castilho, a city of 20,000 inhabitants registered 568 confirmed cases. The city of Guaraçaí has 303 confirmed cases and one death.
The city of Fernandópolis also suffers from a dengue epidemic in the city, with 1354 confirmed cases, and one has died.
