Rafael Sobis scored the famous ‘Pelé missed goal’ tonight (5) in Mineirão, in a 4-1 defeat to Cruzeiro over Brazil at Pelotas-RS. The striker saw the opponent’s goalkeeper in the lead and sent a historic goal in the Brazilian Serie B to cover (see below).
Cruzeiro had already won 3-1 and they were in the mood to guarantee the victory when Sobis found himself in the middle tier in the 28th minute of the second half. He looked at Rafael Martins who was playing early, risked in front of the midfield and fired a perfect shot.
The triumph in Mineirão came after three trips home. In addition to Sobis’ talent (he played for the peninsula and midfielder), Raposa relied on throwing coarse salt on the lawn in the Serie B Brasileirão round 26 match and other goals from Arthur Caíke and Jarro (against). The honorary goal of the gauchs went to Bruno José.
