Despite public outrage, this time WhatsApp has released a dark mode for its users. This is because the messenger received new update on Android which only brings some improvements.
According to people from WABetaInfo, version 2.19.336 is now available for download from the Play Store and is a public build, which means it will be available to all non-beta users.
The main news is the appearance of 230 emoji, 61 of which are new in the package provided by Unicode 12. See some examples below:
The second addition is only cosmetic. This is because WhatsApp has released new Facebook logo for the general public. Therefore, every time you open the messenger or enter the settings page, the application should remind you that it belongs to Mark Zuckerberg.
For now, the new version is being phased out in the Play Store. This means that it can take a while to get to your smartphone.
Now, when it comes to dark mode, functionality lovers will still need exercise a little more patience. This is because WhatsApp has not yet made this feature available to beta recipients.
