Rafael Nadal will miss the final ATP tournament in London. The Spaniard announced on Facebook that he regained health after the trauma and would use it to undergo ankle surgery.
The winner of 17 Grand Slam titles missed the Masters Series tournament in Paris last week. He explained that due to the trauma he would have missed the London final, deciding to "use the moment" to solve the problem with the ankle.
"The year was complicated – very good as a tennis level, when I had the opportunity to play and very bad in terms of injury," Nadal wrote on Facebook.
The Spanish tennis player remarked that he did everything to be in good shape at the end of the season. "I hope I am ready for the next season, thank you all for your support," Nadal added.
His refusal of the tournament in Paris announced the return of Novak Djokovic to the top of the world rankings. As a result, Serb reached the final in the Masters, but lost Karen Khachanov.
Nadal suggests that he will not play in Saudi Arabia. The planned demonstration match with Djokovic woke up to comment on the tension around the murder of journalist Jamal Hashokji.
