The Calgary police say a man died after he was shot by an officer.
It is said that the incident occurred shortly before 2:30 am on Christmas morning, when the officers tried to stop the vehicle and did not stop.
They say that the driver began to drive in the wrong way on the road.
Investigators claim that the driver finally stopped, and the "incident increased", which caused one of the officers to shoot a pistol.
The police say that an ambulance was called and the driver died at the scene.
It is said that no officer was injured as a result of an incident that is being investigated by the response team to serious incidents in Alberta.
