Deputy Jorge Duran warned the community about the existence of "lies" or illegal signs, which are placed in many shopping centers and which make it difficult to exchange gifts.
After Christmas, shopping centers are filled with customers who ask for a change or return of their products. Often, consumers face problems when making changes. The situation that Duran intends to reverse, requiring users to be legally guaranteed.
"With or without a change ticket, voting is a means of 3 months legal guarantee, defective product or does not meet what is promised. The law provides a legal guarantee for 3 months, which includes three options: change, repair or return of what has been paid according to the consumer's choice "- said the deputy.
For this purpose, consumers can go directly to the company that sold them the product, presenting an invoice, bill or other means of confirming the purchase. "Posters or stamps on the ballots in which they indicate that they do not respond to changes or returns shall be invalid", as follows:
"After testing, no changes are allowed".
"Changes are made in days xx between 3 and 5"
"This product has no changes"
"To change the changes to the address …"
So the deputy said that "companies must respond to changes in the same place where you buy and the same schedule."
As for the point of sale, they are subject to the same law. The company can not claim that the product has been finished. This should require a manufacturer or simply operate with one of three options; change, repair or refund what has been paid.
Let us not forget that consumer rights are specified in Act No. 19.496 on the protection of consumer rights. In December 2011, Sernac's financial powers were extended to Act No. 20 555, and from September 2018, with Law No. 21.081, Sernac improved its operations.
