A report from the Southern Andean Volcano Observatory (OVDAS) states that volcanic activity, reported around 18:44, was linked to prolonged earthquake.
Director of Onemi de La Araucanía, Janet Medrano, in detail that “this explosion caused ash column which, according to a special report issued by Sernageomin, indicates that it has achieved 160 meters high approximately”.
Therefore, the yellow alert keeps the municipalities Villarrica, Pucón, Curarrehue and Panguipulli.
