Due to the uncertain ski season, many people are delaying the purchase of ski equipment this year. On Friday, however, Health Minister Jan Blatný (for YES) gave the ski resorts the green light, the slopes will open on December 18. The ski sellers hardly stopped on Saturday.
“Since we opened two weeks and the number of customers is limited, the drops are in the millions. We solved this with the reservation system at the entrance. This means that whoever wants to come here must make an online reservation on our website, “Jaromír Fic, director of the Lyžebraní store, described the situation.
Due to concerns about what this year’s ski season will look like, many people have decided to invest in equipment for alpine and cross-country skiing. “The situation has also affected the sales structure in such a way that the interest in cross-country skiing and alpine skiing is much greater,” added Fic.
“I don’t know what it will be like this season, so I would like to try alpine skiing,” said one interviewee.
Due to concerns that their equipment could be sold, they are already selling goods at discounts somewhere. “The skis are ordered a year in advance, so we have a lot of goods and the discounts actually started on Black Friday,” added Petr Křivánek, Happy Sport COO.
At the same time, new models of skis usually become cheaper after the New Year.
