Spotify has once again published its annual summary that shows which artists and songs were the most listened to in 2020 among users of the site.

Spotify has also kept the tradition for years that as the end of the year approaches, the company summarizes which artists and songs they listened to the most. For the first time, the world charts appeared, according to which the most-listened performer of the first year of the new decade was Bad Bunny, whose songs have been released by users over 8.3 billion times. It broke last year’s first-place record, and Post Malone “won” with over 6.5 billion streams. Drake and J Balvin follow Bad Bunnyt.

Blinding Lights from The Weeknd became the most popular song of the year on Spotify, reaching 1.6 billion plays in 2020. Tones And I’s Dance Monkey was second, and Roddy Ricch’s The Box came third.

Compared to last year, the number of podcasts on the platform has increased significantly. While there were 500,000 of them on Spotify in 2019, by the end of 2020, users could choose from 1.9 million. The most popular content producer this year was The Joe Rogan Experience, followed by the TED Talks Daily and The Daily podcasts. In terms of topics, podcasts about society and culture, humor and health were the most listened to.
