Star Pacers Mitchell Starc, Mitchell Johnson and Tom Curran belong to eight players who were released by the two-time Kolkata Knight Riders champions before the Indian Premier League (IPL) auction next month.
Starc earlier said that his contract was terminated by KKR via a text message. The left-back was one of the most expensive coupons in the $ 201.80 bids for the season 2018, but missed the event after breaking in the lower right.

"I received a text message two days ago from the owners of Calcutta, saying that I was released from my contract," said reporters from Sydney on Wednesday.
Johnson and Curran are other fatalities that have been issued by KKR for the next season. The other players who will be released are Ishank Jaggi, Apoorv Wankhade, Vinay Kumar, Cameron Delport and Javon Searles.
While Johnson has no age on his side, Curran will probably be missed because he will not be part of the team for the entire duration of the tournament.
