Joe Schmidt discovered that by the end of the month, he will make a decision whether to sign a treaty with Ireland.
The head coach's current action will continue after the next World Cup next year, and the IRFU clearly understands that Schmidt will remain.
The 53-year-old had a golden age for Irish Rugby, which included a third Grand Slam in the history of the country, the first win of All Blacks and the first win in the South African soil.
Schmidt admitted that he had talked to his family when he was approaching his future.
"Yes, by the end of November I will decide," Schmidt said.
"I think this is one of the things you just have to sit down and make a decision.
"If I stay, I want the clarity to continue, and if I do not stay, I want the clarity of the IRFU, because I think that half of the work is done during the lesson, the other half of the work leaves someone else up you can take it and so I want to be very nice.
Schmidt is attracted to high-quality young players and tempts to extend his stay in Ireland, although he is away from New Zealand for 11 years and has his family.
"Look, I can not say I was happy to be cohabiting with the group, and whether the young guys are here or that the guys we made at the Carton House," Schmidt continued.
"I am very well in the compartments and I came home for a night (Wednesday) so it was great to catch up with the family and try to stop some things, and when they went to bed, I was a bit ready and I have some things to do on the plane.
"But I know I talked to Kellie (with my wife), even with the kids, while we talked to Timel yesterday, just trying to make a decision that really is true for everyone.
Schmidt also confirmed that Conor Murray had been studying at Carton House earlier this week, and on November 17 he set the target for All Blacks.
"Well, his training over the last few days is super, super sharp," Schmidt added.
"I guess because we're going to be wrong on the side of caution, but I'm just thinking that at this stage you have an extraordinary chance to be involved.
"To be honest, I really should fly in the New Zealand week to attend, she definitely gave me trouble, worked with her in the past few days and saw how sharp she was."
