The mayor of Fuscaldo, the center of Alto Tirreno Cosenza, Gianfranco Ramundo, was arrested by the financiers from the province of Cosenza in the context of the operation coordinated by the prosecutor Paolo, along with other members of the municipal administration. The accusation concerns corruption and the attempted concussion.
Over 14 people are involved in the Guardia di Finanza operation, in which over a hundred military personnel are involved. In addition to the mayor of Ramaudo, he also arrested the deputy mayor, Paolo Cavaliere, and a councilor whose identity is unknown. A public official, entrepreneurs, professional and other people were also involved. The crimes alleged against suspects, in addition to corruption and attempted bribery, are for various reasons "an unjustified incentive to give or promise, embezzlement, disruption of public tenders and procedures for the selection of public administration contractors and false ideologies". The arrests were carried out in the execution of arrest warrants issued by the investigating judge Paoli at the request of the prosecutor of the Pierpaolo Bruni republic and deputies Antonio Lepre and Teresa Valeria Grieco.
