EUR 40,000 will be invested in the development of the Laima Chocolate Museum


On the occasion of the 7th anniversary of the Laima Chocolate Museum, which will be celebrated on December 18, Orkla Latvija will invest 40,000 euros in the development and improvement of the exhibition, and will also open a new information website for the museum, the company’s representatives say.

“This year we celebrate the 150th anniversary of the Laima brand, and the Laima Chocolate Museum is a place where you can learn about the brand’s development from 1870 to the present day, as well as the origins of sweets. This year, we also created an interactive museum website that includes not only up-to-date information about the museum, but also an intriguing insight into important periods in the history of confectionery, ”emphasizes Lineta Mikša, Orkla Latvija’s Communication Director.

“Following careful precautions and strict health and safety regulations, we continued the Laima Chocolate Museum this year. The museum is currently only open on weekends and will be open to visitors until December 20. From the end of December to February, I would like to welcome sweet lovers who will visit us in February and present the news, ”adds Lineta Mikša, Orkla Latvija’s Communication Director.

On December 18, 2013, at 22 Miera Street in Riga, the curator of the sweetest testimony to the history of the Baltic Sea – the Laima Chocolate Museum – opened its doors. During these seven years, the museum has been visited by over 240,000 visitors.

The exhibitions are replenished every year since opening in 2013. One of the recent modernizations of the museum took place successively since 2017, when the change of the visual identification of the museum began.
