The KPV party LV and the New Conservative Party criticize the Saeima election process, while other political forces reject criticism.
The Prime Minister of the new Conservative Party (JKP) Janis Bordans declared that the choice of Saeima Office means agreement with previous coalition politicians along with "Development / For!". In addition, KPV LV, which won the second place in the Saeima elections, is not represented at all in the Presidency, Bordan reminded.
"It helps today because it illuminates what we've seen and felt for all three weeks," Bordan said. He also added that most of the president's officials retained their powers from the previous parliamentary term.
Artūras Kaimiņš, leader of "KPV LV", commented that "Rozwój / Par!" (AP), the national association "For all Latvia!" – for "Ojczyzna i wolności" / LNNK (VL-TB / LNNK), "New Unity" and the Union of Greens and Farmers (ZZS) are apparently "attached" to selected presidencies of Saeima members, and "Harmony" also takes part in it. The politician believes that there is a pact between these political forces.
Arvydas Aseraden, a politician of new unity (JV), rejected the criticism of the newly elected parties, stressing that the JV was open to negotiations and discussions. He stressed that the deputies had to take an effective office today to enable the parliament to function.
"It's important to understand that the elections are over and that the fundamental issue in politics is the ability to reach an agreement, not conflict," Asheran said. He also stressed that MPs should cooperate and be able to convince their colleagues about their suggestions.
At the same time, Aseraden appealed that today's events are not directly related to the formation of a coalition. He stressed that the members were able to constructively agree on a functioning Bureau.
The chairman of VL-TB / LNNK Raivis Dzintars stressed that today's voting took place under conditions where the coalition was unclear, so the agreement was very difficult to achieve.
The AP candidate, Prime Minister Artis Pabriks, pointed to the presidency of the Saeima after the election that it is not yet possible to say which of the nominees will be nominated as prime minister. However, Pabriks argued that if the president chose him, he would be able to get the majority support in Saeima. Asked how it will be, Pabriks pointed out that it would be difficult to negotiate with the other five center-right parties in the operational program, in positions, including ministerial candidates. Above all, however, one should expect a presidential nomination because politics does not exclude the possibility of nominating another candidate by Vējonis.
Meanwhile, Armands Krauze, president of the board of the Greens and Agricultural Unions (ZZS) asked about possible coalition patterns, he said that they can not be talked about before the president's nomination. Krauze, who was asked which candidate would like to see ZZS as a candidate for establishing a government, indicated that he was not dependent on political authority, but on the president. At the same time, according to ZZS, the government should be appointed to create a candidate who can win the majority.
As reported, MPs today chose the Presidium of the 13th Saeima, and Inara Mūrniece, a politician of the VL-TB / LNNK, became the chairman of the parliament.
Members of the JKP, Dagmar Beatnere-Le Galla, as well as the vice-chairman of the 12th Saeima Inese Lībiņa-Egnere (JV) were elected members of the Chair.
Andrejs Klementjevs (S) became secretary of Saeima, who also held this position in the previous parliamentary term. Mrs. Mary Golubeva, MP headed by AP, was elected secretary.
