M’sians hit social media hard with haze issues

PETALING JAYA: Malaysians have taken to social media to lament about how the haze is affecting them.

Twitter user M (@mysafeground) tweeted that he has developed skin rashes, a sore throat and runny nose due to the haze.

"And the fact that I cannot run outside, it's annoying," he said.

QNH (@nishahaquee) who lives in Setia Alam tweeted: "I've been sick for three days now with never endings (of) puking, dizziness and breathing difficulty. It's so upsetting I can barely see the clear sky from here (sic) "

mashie (@masalmyfsh) noted that her children’s eyes were itchy and they were coughing as well.

“I feel like (I’m) walking in the dust! Ughhh, ”she tweeted.

On Facebook, Franco Kailsan pointed out the haze in Petaling Jaya was bad.

"My nose is itchy. I feel like sneezing but can't sneeze. "

These are some of the complaints voiced out by Malaysians over the current haze situation.

Yesterday, some 409 schools in Sarawak were ordered to be closed due to the haze.

At noon, the Air Pollutant Index (API) readings ranged from moderate to unhealthy, with Sri Aman recording the highest API reading at 190.

Before this, the Sarawak Education Department had issued a directive that schools in areas with API levels above 200 should be closed immediately.

It also said public examinations would be postponed if the API exceeded 300.
