The violin he deals with is Guarnerius from 1741. Built by one of the greatest violin makers, Giuseppe Guarneri del Gesù (1698-1744), in Cremona, Italy.
Tellefsen bought Guarneri in 1970 For a million crowns.
– When I bought it, I did not invest, and 20 years of my life I repaid my debt. Such old violins are constantly growing. There are only 150 of them all over the world, so they are very much sought after. The purchase price was around NOK 80 million, says Tellefsen.
Last year, DN mentioned a sharp increase in the market value of instruments made by old violinists, such as Antonio Stradivari (1644-1737) and Guarneri del Gesù.
Although he did not look at the violin as an investment, the purchase was undoubtedly profitable.
"At that time, I did not think it should increase so much in value, it was luck, I bought it because I liked it, so I lent my ears for advice." Artistic has always been a good investment, says Tellefsen.
"I participated in everything possible"
The violin, which Tellefsen had for nearly 50 years and exercised from four to five hours a day, participated in each of them during Tellefsen itself. His career is not one of the easiest to summarize, and he is considered one of the most important musicians in Norway.
"The violin was on everything, we are closely related to each other, I will have Christmas concerts in the future, and then there will be a violin.
