Over 27.85 thousand The children received a vaccine against measles and rubella (MR) during the ongoing vaccination campaign in Jammu and Kashmir, a spokesperson said on Saturday. The campaign began on September 24 and involved almost 38,000 children aged 9 months to 15 years to eliminate the innate rubella syndrome caused by the rubella virus.
"In total, 37 712 60 children will be in this state, of which 27 875 731 have been vaccinated so far, of which 17,994 children belong to the Kashmir department and 10,847,737 in the Jamam division," said the spokesperson.
The campaign is to end by the end of this month compared to the planned date of October 20. The measles and rubella campaign marks the introduction of rubella vaccine for the first time in the Indian vaccination program for children.
