Twitter’s latest response to the spread of disinformation comes in the form of another warning. Users are already getting an alert when they try to retweet a tweet that has been flagged with potentially misleading information. Twitter will now display a warning when you try to “like” a tweet that has been marked as potentially misleading.
It is essential to provide some context as to why a tagged tweet is misleading due to our choices, COVID-19, and synthetic and manipulated media rules.

Twitter mentions that its hints helped reduce tweet citation for tagged tweets by 29%, but did not mention whether it helped reduce the number of unquoted retweets.
With these new tips, Twitter hopes it can reduce the likes of potentially dangerous tweets and news about COVID-19 as the world watches a global increase in virus infection.
