Resende is running a drive-thru vaccination campaign against measles, mumps and rubella

The action will take place from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm in the exhibition area located at Avenida Coronel Professor Antônio Esteves, Campo de Aviação.

Adults aged 20 to 49 who can be vaccinated with the measles, mumps and rubella vaccine are the target group for this drive-thru campaign, according to the city’s health department.

In order to be vaccinated, interested persons must present the following documents this Thursday: an official document with a CPF or SUS card and a vaccination record book. The use of a mask is compulsory.

According to the City Secretariat of Health, drive-thru vaccinations are expected to prevent overcrowding in healthcare facilities during the coronavirus pandemic. Under this system, the population can become immune to measles, mumps and rubella without leaving their vehicles.

City Health Secretary Alexandre Vieira emphasizes that this system is safe and avoids direct human contact with people other than health professionals.

“This drive-thru campaign is a way to increase vaccination coverage on the municipality’s calendar as well as an opportunity for people to update the brochure and avoid serious diseases,” said Alexandre Vieira.
