AutoSTAT experts have calculated the cost of maintaining two popular cross-wagons – KIA Rio X-Line and LADA Vesta SW Cross – and determined which one is more profitable to own. All calculations were carried out in a special “Car Owning Cost Calculator”, created by the agency itself.

If we consider the initial versions of the models with a manual transmission (Vesta SW Cross with a 1.6 engine with 106 horsepower, and the Rio X-Line with a 1.4 engine with 100 horsepower), the “Korean”, as it turned out, costs one kilometer 9 rubleswhile on our Westie it costs average 8.8 rubles.

A slightly different setting for versions with more powerful engines (Vesta SW Cross – with a 122 HP 1.8 engine, Rio X-Line – with a 123 HP 1.6 engine). In this case, their cost of ownership is identical and is approximately 9.3 rubles per kilometer of run.

Thus, the owners of both cars will spend a month on their maintenance from 14.7 to 15.5 thousand rubles, and in 5 years or 100 thousand kilometers it goes from 880 thousand to 930 thousand rubles (calculations were made for Moscow and the Moscow region and drivers aged 40 with 20 years of experience).
