Ports: handling of 23 million tons of cargo in October



The General Authorities for Ports (ports) announced on Wednesday that the total number of cargo in the kingdom's ports reached 23 million tons in October 2018.
The total number of containers serviced in ports reached 4.51% in October 2018. Compared to the same period of the previous year, the number of containers reloaded to 549 thousand. Containers, an increase of 1% compared to the same period last year.
He pointed out that the number of ships in the Kingdom ports reached 1035 in October 2018. The number of passengers reached 69 thousand passengers, while the number of vehicles 62 thousand vehicles, and the number of farm animals 494 thousand livestock.
The Office seeks to regulate port management through the kingdom, oversee its functioning and development, increase operational and logistic efficiency, and use its capabilities and potential to support various projects that contribute to the added value of the national economy and support the investment and commercial environment of the Kingdom.
