The mark on Kalemegdan on Monday was the target of a vandal
UNDEFINED vandals sprayed the Thanksgiving Memorial in France on Kalemegdan on Monday. The inscription "A la France" (France) based on the monument was covered in black, and from the Institute for the Protection of Cultural Monuments of the City of Belgrade on Tuesday they said the aerosol was removed.
– Graffiti on Thanksgiving in France has been cleaned thanks to the latest technologies used during its reconstruction, the Institute said, noting that it is our duty to consistently preserve the monument as a memory of the past and supply for the future.

The lower part of the monument was previously covered with a transparent canvas, and the number of members of the municipal police increased nearby. Social networks have noted that this act was the result of a ceremony in Paris, where Serbian president Aleksandar Vucic did not have a place that would resemble the role our country had in the First World War and the one millionth sacrifice it had made.
Kalemegdan Monument was founded on November 11, 1930 as a sign of friendship, mutual help and cooperation between Serbia and France during the First World War. The bronze monument, which was restored on August 6 this year, depicts a sculpture of a woman holding a sword as a symbol of France fighting for Serbia.
