Saudi Arabia will build a desalination installation powered by solar energy Saudi Arabia Tools

Saudi Arabia is building a solar plant that uses adsorption technology in one of seven strategic projects that include the country's first nuclear research reactor.

The symbolic cornerstone for the desalination of 5 200 m3 / d, which is to be found on the Red Sea coast at Yanbu, was submitted by the Saudi leader King Salman during a visit to the city of King of Abdulaziz for Science and Technology (KACST) in Riyadh on November 5, 2018 .

The official Saudi information agency described the project as "the first industrial application model that uses desalination adsorption technology".

Other projects supported by King Salman include the nuclear test facility and the development of the aircraft fuselage at King Khalid International Airport; as well as advanced material projects, such as in the carbon fiber production laboratory and nano testing of materials made of aluminum (MOF-303), which absorb water from the atmosphere at low humidity.
