NUDD has a new device that helps patients and people with gastrointestinal problems

The device is designed for care in the most demanding health conditions

17 April (TASR) – The National Institute of Children's Diseases (NÚDCH) has a new device for the preparation of parenteral nutrition. Such a device is needed for patients with oncological or gastroenterological diseases. Parenteral nutrition can be understood as the administration of nutrients, for example, by infusion. The device was handed over to the hospital by the Drop of Hope Foundation on Tuesday.

In NADS, such nutrition is most often prescribed to bone marrow transplant patients (TJKD) in the Department of Hematology and Pediatric Oncology. In a hospital nursing hospital, they prepare parenteral feeding bags for hospitalized and ambulatory patients from birth to 19 years.

The device is intended for care in the most severe health conditions, which do not allow small patients to supplement the necessary energy and nutrients. Optimization of nutrition of the patient is an important factor influencing the success of the treatment process and subsequent regeneration and rehabilitation.

Individually defined nutrition significantly affects wound healing, length of stay in the hospital and reduces the likelihood of complications associated with the treatment process.

TASR informed the NUDD spokesperson, Dana Kamenicka.
