In classic competitions cyclists need a rich breakfast. They must contain a lot of free carbohydrates, high quality proteins and healthy fats. At nine in the morning, nothing can overload the stomach, because the scene usually starts three hours later.

They still have enough fat in their bodies to burn. It is different in demanding mountains. There the situation requires a lot of new energy, mainly in combination of real food and gel. In this way, they must supplement about 60-90 g of carbohydrates per hour.
All this includes two rice cakes, a croissant with jam and ham, six energy bars, two isotonic gels, two cans of Coca-Cola and six bidos of an electrolytic drink.
The average stage of the Tour de France takes about five hours and ends at 17:00. Then you have to eat again. Immediately after completing the stage, the competitor receives a regenerative drink which he must drink. Then the bus takes off, where daily replenishment of important substances begins.
