In the main Skoda factory in Mlada Boleslav, mass production of the new crossover Skoda Kamiq began. The car has become the most affordable SUV in the brand line and third crossover after Kodiaq and Karoq on the European market.
As the press service of the Czech brand, especially Skoda Kamiq, has noticed, the entire production line of the Mladá Boleslav plant (where the Octavia, Fabia, Scala and Karoq models are also produced) has been increased to over EUR 100 million. The paint shop and car workshop as well as the final assembly line have gone through not only basic but also detailed changes to facilitate, for example, the assembly of new separate LED headlight blocks. There are plans to release about 400 copies of Skoda Kamiq.
Recall Skoda Kamiq made her debut in March this year at the international motor show in Geneva. Becoming the most compact SUV brand, it even lost the size of the Korean "Crete": its length is 4.244 mm (shorter than Creta by 29 mm), width – 1793 mm (less than 13 mm), height – 1531 mm (lower 99) mm). Accurate clearance data is still kept secret – we only know that it is 37 mm more than the Scala hatchback.
In Europe Skoda Kamiq will be offered with three gasoline engines and one diesel. The first one is a 1.0-liter turbo-tail TSI with a capacity of 95 and 115 hp. and a 1.5-liter "turbuchetverkoy" TSI with a capacity of 150 hp. In the diesel range there is no alternative TDI engine with a capacity of 1.6 liters and 115 HP. Transmissions – five and six-speed DSG "mechanics" and "robot".
Prices for new items are not yet known. According to preliminary data, the SUV will be priced at a minimum of 19,000 euros (approximately 1.4 million rubles at the current exchange rate). European sales will start next autumn.
