A large fire that broke out in a Seattle timber warehouse, consumed several buildings near the ship's channel and caused power outages.
The municipal fire brigade sent many engines, as well as fire-fighting boats, to fight the flame, which began around 9 o'clock Saturday. There were no immediate injuries reported.
The Seattle Times reports that fire consumed five buildings. Department spokeswoman Kristin Tinsley said the endangered buildings belong to Northwest Millwork and Gascoigne Lumber. Northwest Millwork produces custom architectural woodwork. Gascoigne is a wood wholesaler
Tinsley said at 10:25. that most of the fire was under control.
The fire department sent an alarm within a half-mile of the fire in the city's Queen Anne district, telling residents to close the windows and doors.
