Zulia continues to report more and more daily COVID-19 cases; the country exceeds 103,000 infections

Venezuela has recorded 905 deaths since March.


For the second consecutive night in the official national daily count of coronavirus cases, the state of Zulia again is the subject with the highest number of detected infections.

On Wednesday, 2-D reported 402 cases of covid-19 community transmission and 44 “imported” infections, bringing the total number of infections up to 103,067 nationally.

Vice President Delcy Rodríguez said in tweets: “The entity with the largest number of new cases in the community on Wednesday is Zulia (79), with active infections in 9 municipalities, followed by La Guaira (78) and Lara (62) states.” .

He also said 44 “imported” cases were from Colombia.

It was also reported that there are 4132 active cases, “of which 4106 are treated in the public health system and 26 in private clinics.”

Rodríguez regretted the death of 4 Venezuelans on the 262 day of the pandemic because of the coronavirus: “1 Guárico woman 60, Lara man 86, Mérida man 73, and Táchira man 62 years old” .
