The Ministry of Transport will invite inspectors and auditors to participate in projects from the beginning to improve monitoring.

At a meeting on progress on the North-South highway on 26 June, Nguyen Van The, Minister of Transport, said that rapid projects using public investment are Cam Lo – La Son (crossing the 2 provinces of Quang Tri and Thua Thien Hue) and Cao Bo – Mai Son (located in the provinces of Nam Dinh and Ninh Binh) will begin in August, and the design of the two ends of the My Thuan 2 bridge will start at the end of 2019.

"From now until December, the entire package of three public investment projects will start, in particular the main My Thuan 2 bridge will start in the first quarter of next year," said Minister Can.

With 8 other North-South expressway projects invested in the form of a PPP, the Ministry of Transport will report to the government for guidance on the next steps. Currently, the Ministry sells tender documents for projects, there are 120 investors buying profiles.

Along with the tender for the north-south expressway project in the form of public investments, Minister Nguyen Van directed investors, project management to choose the appropriate package offers, including construction and installation package to organize online bids, ensuring that the rate of online packages exceeds 50%.

Referring to the quality of technical project documentation, Minister Nguyen Van, before submitting to the ministry for approval, project management units must establish a project evaluation and evaluation board. design consultancy, verification consultancy.

The Department of Construction and Transport Quality Management advises documents regarding the management of North-South express road projects in a uniform manner, binding the duties of the project director and people involved in the project. .

The leaders of the Ministry of Transport also asked to invite inspection and auditing forces to support the project from the beginning in order to supervise and ensure that the project complies with the regulations.

To achieve clearance, the minister can appoint deputy ministers and project management to work directly with the municipality to accelerate progress. So far, the Ministry has organized more than 4,000 billion VNDs for the municipality to pay compensation, settlement and resettlement.

The investment policy for the construction of many sections of expressways on the north-south-east route (period 2017-2020) was adopted by the National Assembly at the end of 2017. The first phase includes 11 projects with a total length of 654 km, passing 13 provinces and cities. In particular, three projects are invested in state budget capital, eight projects in the form of public-private partnerships, BOT contracts.

11 projects with sections from Cao Bo (Nam Dinh) to Bai Vot (Ha Tinh); from Cam Lo (Quang Tri) to La Son (Thua Thien Hue); from Nha Trang (Khanh Hoa) to Dau Giay (Dong Nai), My Thuan 2 bridge (Tien Giang and Vinh Long).
