A very small and easy-to-fix hole was discovered at the international space station in August 2018. By flight controllers, and now someone finally knows why.
Russia knows and will not say what it was, and the head of the Russian space agency Dmitry Rogozin said that he knew what it was, but he would not share this information with the US or NASA. Rogozin told participants of a scientific conference for youth:We know exactly what happened, but we won't say anything".
The head of the Russian space agency was not only cool, but also NASA – in which he cooperates directly with the United States when it comes to the International Space Station. NASA chief Jim Bridenstine told the Houston Chronicle:They didn't tell me anything. I do not want to let you undo one element (relationship), but it is clearly unacceptable that there are holes in the International Space Station".
It seems that the hole in the ISS may have been caused by drilling a hole from the inside of the capsule, which leads to the possibility of sabotage on the ISS. Given that both Russian and American life is on the ISS, one would think that transparency would be key – but on the other hand it is Russia.
